Getting started with Reading Steps
Welcome to Reading Steps! This guide will help you start your reading adventure.Logging in
- Go to the Reading Steps login page
- Select I’m a Student
- Choose your school from the dropdown
- Enter your username and password provided by your teacher
- Click Let’s Go!
If you don’t know your login details, ask your teacher for help.
Your dashboard
After logging in, you’ll see your home dashboard with:- Recent reading activity - Your latest logged books
- Reading streak - How many days in a row you’ve read
- Current level - Your reading level (Bronze through Rainbow)
- Quick actions - Log reading, discover books, and more
Navigation
Use the sidebar to access different sections:| Section | Description |

| Reading Log | View and add your reading sessions |
| My Reviews | See book reviews you’ve written |
| My Loans | Track books you’ve borrowed |
| Announcements | Messages from your teachers |
| Trends | See what’s popular with other readers |
| Discover | Find new books to read |
Logging your reading
- Click Log Reading or go to your Reading Log
- Search for the book you read
- Enter how long you read (in minutes)
- Add any notes about what you read (optional)
- Click Save
Your reading level
As you read more, you’ll progress through levels:- Bronze
- Silver
- Gold
- Red
- Orange
- Yellow
- Green
- Blue
- Indigo
- Violet
- Rainbow
Taking quizzes
After reading a book, you can take a quiz to test your comprehension:- Go to the book’s detail page
- Click Take Quiz
- Answer the questions about the book
- See your score and earn points!
